Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Fantastic bike shop! Really helps that it's opposite my house too. The guys there are so friendly - they really know their stuff and do fantastic servicing and repairs for a good price. In fact, the full service is probably the best value that I've seen in London (I.e. the mechanics care and do a proper job for a great price) My full service was turned around so quickly and I was kept informed at every stage. They even threw in a new bit of hardware gratis to keep my bike in good shape. Look forward to my next visit! Cheers guys. P.S. if you guys are planning on doing a shop ride ever I'll be there!
I use my bicycle to commute 5 days a week and hadn't had it serviced since buying it 2 years ago...it was in need of a good makeover. Balfe's service is top of the range and they kept me informed throughout the whole process. I cycled away with a perfectly working bicycle. Excellent work....i will see you soon.

These guys are amazing. Had my bike fit here (relatively minor adjustments but made a huge difference to my comfort on the bike). Also had a saddle fit - great to be able to try a range of saddles and choose one that suited my body. They also sorted out some problems I was having with my gears on short notice and now my bike feels like a dream to ride! Don’t bother looking elsewhere.
The Cadence/Giant team here is great - especially Tom and Simon. I've had issues with my bike and I've come into their store and Tom has helped me out right there and then - I really appreciate that sort of help and service. Simon fitted me to my bike, it was a great session, he was thorough and we had some laughs too - as a result of the bike fit I am riding faster and stronger with minimal to medium effort and no aches and pain!!
